  • Bills Parcels Quits

Bill Parcels left the Cowboys and they are looking at Bill Cowher. Hopefully they'll have a shot in the playoffs next season.

I was sorry to hear that. I like Parcells. I thought he was the best coach they've had since Jimmy Johnson.

Parcels was a terrific coach, but he was in a no-win situation. You can't coach when your hands are tied behind your back by the owner. I don't think Cowher would do any better and is probably smart enough to stay out of that mess.

To say Dallas made the playoffs is a bit of a misnomer. My grandmother's bridge club could have made the playoffs in the NFC this year. Dallas and the Giants both and 8:8 records and slid in.

That Dallas was able to squeak out 500 season is a testament to Parcell's coaching and is DESPITE the TO influence.

Don't expect anything big from Dallas for a while. TO can smell fresh blood and will be all over a freshman coach.

Believe me, I'd rather not have Owens than have him. But, he does draw coverage on the field that opens the other receivers more. And for that reason, he has some value.

Of course, if he actually caught most of the balls thrown his way...

            Bring back Jimmy Johnson.
