I sincerely hope that was a privately owned "collecter's" truck....if not, wonder what the chief would think about that?Chief Dwayne LeBlanc

"I have a dream. It's not a big dream, it's just a little dream. My dream — and I hope you don't find this too crazy — is that I would like the people of this community to feel that if, God forbid, there were a fire, calling the fire department would actually be a wise thing to do. You can't have people, if their houses are burning down, saying, 'Whatever you do, don't call the fire department!' That would be bad."

Fairly impressive, considering our trucks are apt to get stuck on dry pavement if we so much as say the word MUD!Fire Lieutenant/E.M.T.

I'd think that, if they entered the contest, they'd better bring home the Trophy.
Since that Engine is a Seagrave, the mud can't be very deep.....

Maybe that is the only way they could raise money because the citizens won't vote to give them any, the don't want to go subscription and they can't afford their part of a grant? My posts reflect my views and opinions, not the organization I work for or my IAFF local. We've gone mud bogging a few times with our rigs. 2 of them are 4WD. 1 commercial chassis, the other is a custom chassis. The chief drove the commercial chassis up a logging road one day to get to a brush fire up on top of a mountain range. The ruts caused by the truck were so deep 4 wheelers had problems getting through them. the only damage was one of the stupidly placed rear clearance lights got torn off.
Here's a pic of our custom chassis 4WD pumper (floored the guys down in FL that they make 4WD customs)The comments made by me are my opinions only, not of the Fire and EMS services I am affiliated with.
I have lost my mind..has anyone seen it? it's not worth much..but it's mine

See, now I dont have a problem with taking a truck where its GOTTA go. Only makes sense, and if the truck was designed for that kind of work, all the better.
Just dont see the sense of taking a perfectly good vehicle to do 'stoopid' stuff. On the other hand, I do see the point and requirement to produce fund raiser events too.....
