Google Web help

I know someone here will have a solution. I am trying to upload a PowerPoint presentation o my googleweb home page. It will upload the .pps but when people go to access it, it won't open. So no good. But when I try to load the .ppt, it won't go at all. Needless to say, I'm getting a little frustrated. Any help would be appreciated.
