Oh Please! You can't please everyone all the bleed'n time. And sometimes you just can't please anyone.
Legal Threat Removes Airport's Christmas Trees
POSTED: 4:52 am EST December 11, 2006
SEATAC, Wash. -- Seattle-Tacoma International Airport has removed all nine of its Christmas trees instead of adding a Jewish menorah as a rabbi requested.
An airport spokeswoman said the removal was made out of respect.
The rabbi, who had threatened legal action, is appalled. His lawyer said, "There is a concern here that the Jewish community will be portrayed as the Grinch."
The airport said if a menorah were added, it would have been required to add symbols for other religions and cultures in the Northwest. The spokeswoman said the staff didn't have time to be cultural anthropologists.
Maintenance workers boxed up the trees during the graveyard shift early on Saturday, when airport bosses believed few people would notice.
