Just got back from my regular noon hour walk, and as I was awaiting the light to change at C and 6th Steets, I saw a big line of cars stopped on C Street because the construction site was blocking traffic so that one of the big dumpster bins could be loaded up. There were two cop cars in that line, waiting patiently like everyone else.
However coming down 6th, towards Pennsylvania was a SUV followed by another cop. Both turned into C Street... or well should say tried. The SUV stopped on the crosswalk, and the cop was in the middle of the intersection.
Anyhow, buddy cop decides this is no good, so he backs up and turns around - I figured he just circle the block. Umm. Nope. He BACKs up into C Street, and parks. Right in front of a fire hydrant. So I'm think'n here. I could open my wallet, flash my County FD ID, and tell him he is in violation. Or do like I did and decide that "parking for cops while doing Admin runs to the District Court House have special privilages". Too bad there wasn't another gas leak from the construction site again. Would have loved to see a 4 inch line punched through his windows, A la BMW.
