SPRINGFIELD, Va. -- Fairfax County firefighters are trying to determine the cause of an early-morning blaze that swept through a town home development in Springfield, Va.
Fire investigators said the fire broke out just after 3 a.m. Tuesday inside a town home in the 7700 block of Saratoga Ridge Court. The fire then extended to several other town homes.
Fire officials said the fire displaced 30 people, but that number has now been reduced to four.
Officials said no one was injured, but a cat perished.
The cause of the fire has not been determined, but investigators said a Christmas tree was located next to a burning fireplace.
