Not only is it missing for me, but the "Last Post" adjacent to the Saving Lives:True Stories forum points to threads that I cannot access. Right now, it shows a thread called "First Responder Volunteer", but clicking on it takes me to a thread called "WHY WE CONTINUE TO DO THIS!!!!!!"

I get the same results on three different machines. Methinks something else is still amiss.

    Anybody else getting similar results?

Well there's probably no rastional explanation why QuickTime would prevent you from posting a new thread...but hey, I'm a PC guy...

Acutally what the WT suggested is pretty much what I ended up doing on my work computers. Ya, I have two on my desk, and neither one was allowing posts earleir last week. I ended up clearing all histories, caches, temp internet files, everything before I was able to make new threads. I dont know if any of it helped or if it was just incidental to things going back to "normal" or not, but ... well 'nuff said And now the time indexing thing seems to be settled, so I guess we are about as "Normal" as this bunch can get eh? LOL

    Dear Webteam.

    Well the Beer worked.

Woke up this morning feeling a lot more relaxed.

Had the standard 4 or 5 cups of coffee my brain normally needs to rise above "Duh" status.

Thought occured. "What common software have I installed recently"?

Next thought followed much faster than normal, almost got excited.

"Did I install it during the recent Forum crisis with thread orders"

Answer to both was "Why yes indeed"

So could this be clouding the issue, I could blame the recent events or investimigate the software installed.

To keep the wife happy, all three computers had Kodak EasyShare software installed so that she can download pictures on any computer (Depending which one or two I am working or testing on).

    SOOOO. Uninstall EasyShare. Restart computer.

Have a Coffee. (To early for Beer)

    Test. No Go.

    Hmmmmmm.

Bingo. As part of the EasyShare install, QuickTime is installed as well (why do people use this garbage?)

    Uninstall QuickTime and test.

Lookit it works. I be posting threads again.

    Thats on Windowz 98.

On Windowz 2000 computer, removing Easy Share without removing Quick Time was enough.

Have a Coffee. The world is good.

There are two threads for Kiwi Test. Would you please nail these, before they start getting to 100 pages.

    WebTeam??..............

I'm trying to have a good weekend, but I'm driving the Ambulance for a few hours. So, if you need one, pray for 129 or 118. If 187 shows up, you're in for a ride.

SERIOUSLY. A BigTHANK YOU for trying to sort this stuff out for us. Your patience and sense of humor is greatly appreciated.

I think it's funny that the first post is mine and I didn't even start this thread.

Did the Computer version of a rain dance.

Tried to make a new thread.
    Got 404 error
Hit refresh, got told I had posted this thread in the last 5 minutes.
    Vapour.

    Tried it from second computer.
    Same same.

    Had a beer.

    Third computer.
    Same.

Put security settings on LOW on dunger computer, restart, try again.
    Same.

    Had a Beer.
    Had another Beer.
    That appeared to help.
Had another beer and put ACDC on to clear my head.
    That REALLY helped.
Another BEER please, why thank you.

    Went back to normal computer.

Opened Firefox (I keep it on the computer because I appreciate a really good joke)

    Tried a post.

Blank white page with "http://forums.firehouse.com/newthread.php" looks pretty after a few beers and ACDC playing, but after a while you need something more mellow.

Had another beer, still looks bad, and getting worse.

However I have found that by playing with the brightness and contrast on the monitor in time to "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" some nice effects can be achieved.

Although doing both at once requires two hands and this impairs the consuming of beer. Time for another beer, pretty show over.

Well that was nice thank you. Tommorow I will offer a sacrifice to the computer gods and start again.

It is now time for me to go and enjoy Saturday night with the Wife and Young Un.

I might just have a Beer.

As long as I don't try and post it.
WARNING: Do not attempt to read when under the influence of alcohol. Uncontrollable laughter may occur.

    Then have another drink
