1.Here's a stunner...nozzlecommie is on the other side of an issue from other every single person on this board.

    2. The only street whores who look like Julia Roberts are those that come with extra equipment.

    3. This is incredibly poor judgment and probably an attempt at CYA by the administrator of this agency.

    4. The crime is committed when the contract is made. The sex act is not required.

    5. If the agency is going to require these officers to perform these acts, does this mean that they have to provide OSHA certified condoms?

If a community decides they don't want it, then they don't want it. When one business, by it's very nature can influence the profitability of another just by proximity (meaning a toy store can expect it's profits to drop if a strip joint opens up next door) then communities have a right to push it out or keep it out, if that is what they want. Civil libertarians of many stripes agree on this. It's a basic 'police power' accorded to municipalities everywhere.
Again, the negative stigma attached to these types of places are the reason there would be problems.
I agree, tax the hell out of it. Tax the johns. Make them pay for their own healthcare and STD treatments. I can't wait for the twit feminists to come out on this one.
What's the difference between an STD due to a "normal" relationship, and one that is due to a relationship with someone who is a prostitute? Answer: none.
But to have police officers ON DUTY performing sex acts is not right, especially when it is not legally necessary for the case to be made, presumably using taxpayer dollars to do so.
Well, we can agree on this.
While I'm not a zealot against these activities (that's my weak pulse of a liberterian streak showing), it's also naive to think legalization and taxation solves the problem.
      What problem?
We have alcoholics -- alcohol is legal and taxed, and even has a MADD fanatics going after, what's the latest one, oh yes "Driving while buzzed."
But, we have FAR more people who legally enjoy the "benefits" of alcoholic beverages responsibly...including many of the members of this forum. Remember all the good that Prohibition brought about? That went over really well.
We have legalized sports gambling in Las Vegas. We have off-shore sports gambling via the internet. And we still have the current hockey coach scandal.
True. But, again...there are FAR more people who legally enjoy gambling for the entertainment it offers every single day, regardless of how much someone else may think it is a "vice."
It's time to let go of the outdated Puritan thinking much of Amercia has towards sex. Nothing good ever comes from it. People are either going to act responsibly, or not. To criminalize something like sex is just silly...and it always has been.

        Noz,

Question; is this the moralistic measure that you would use to bring up your daughter?

Would it be ok for a brothel to set up shop in the house next door to your home with teen aged daughter? Or is this when you throw down your pilgrim hat and draw the line?

yes, but if an undercover officer was required to do heroin or cocaine or marajuana during a sale (ie, the seller/buyer wanted the offier to try a random sample) to ensure it wouldn't kill anyone, would he be brought up on charges for doing so? don't know, maybe one of our LEO can answer that one.
Oh, no! Not consenting adults having sex! Simply awful! I know; let's spend thousands upon thousands to shut down this terrible menace to society.
the same arguement has been made for alcohol, gambling marajuana, and the other harder drug trades: don't ban it, just regulate it and make sure the government gets a cut. might even be a valid argument.

My thoughts are that prositution is like pornography: as long as there is a demand, you will find a supply. you can say you don't want the internet full of porn, but as long as you have guys and girls who want it, they will go get it. as long as you have people looking for prostitutes, you will find someone supplying the johns. and as long as there are johns, you won't stop prostitution.

as for the topic at hand, I guess it was a hard job, but someone needed to do it

Wrong...the STD from a hooker was paid for. If one were to let the big head think for the little head and the ramifications involved, this would be a moot point, wouldn't it?

This is also a moot point. Once the offer to purchase is made, the case is made.. possession with intent to distribute.

Yes. There is nothing wrong with sex between two (or more) consenting adults.
Would it be ok for a brothel to set up shop in the house next door to your home with teen aged daughter? Or is this when you throw down your pilgrim hat and draw the line?
The brothel is their business, not mine...and this has nothing to do with children. A regulated brothel next door would be the least of my worries.

Wrong...the sex was the same, regardless of whether it was paid for in money, or paid for with a movie and a dinner...and flowers...and candy...and jewelry...new car...apartment...whatever it takes...or not paid for at all. Thinking with the wrong head has nothing to do with it. This argument could just as easily be applied to every physical/sexual relationship that ever existed.

Excuse me but isn't prostitution one of the oldest professions around?

Look if some sicko wants to buy sex form a $2 women so be it, at least he is not out there rapping a women. Children however need to be protected from this though so I can see it being a problem in neighborhoods. But the massage parlor on main street I could careless. Except if it catches fire, cause then it may be a problem.
You need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.

Of course the militant feminists at NOW would say that every sexual interaction is rape.

Yes, it's a frequent problem now and usually it's just a matter of people often getting bored with monotony and looking for something new. But it would be much better if they here https://kinkazoid.com/ ordered themselves good sex toys and there were no problems with it. I hope I was able to help and everyone can choose for themselves. there is nothing wrong with that and should buy if you start to get bored with regular sex.
