  • Harve's compliment on my picture of running down the river one evening made me think about the ones I had saved from other trips. So, I spent a few hours going through my computer, deleting bad pictures and organizing a few that were really nice. I haven't been taking pictures lately, but I plan on taking my camera this week for a two day tournament. Here's one of the more unusual pictures I've taken during a fishing trip. Look closely at the tree, particularly at the knot hole..

It appears they have been busy, at least one thread closed and Scarecrow sent to the Principal's office. Could be more, that's just what I've seen so far.

I'm not sure, it just kept asking who we were... I think it may have been a spy for the fish, letting them know when somebody was fishing near their home.. We've got a few bald eagles around here as well, but they are embarrassed about the hair loss, and hard to pin down for a picture...

                • If I tried to fish a location like that, I would lose so many hooks it wouldn't even be funny. (nice pix again)

                  • That particular area is somewhat of a slough that connects two different areas. It starts in a ditch, and ends at a giant culvert. I've been through the area several times in my Triton, although it isn't always easy if you aren't on the right side to miss the stumps that are too close together for a boat to pass. The culvert is big enough to go through in a boat, and I think it actually was once a rail car or something similar. Sorry, no pictures of it yet.
This past weekend was spent fishing Lake Ferguson, off the Mighty Mississippi in Greenville, MS. Sorry, I didn't do to well in the tournament, but I did enjoy trying to learn new water. Here is a picture of the boat ramp/levee/parking lot beside the Jubilee Casino at the City Landing. Sorry about the size of the picture, I haven't taken the time to go through and crop/edit the picture down to size.

                              • Even though I live in the South, our bass club has actually fished in "Lumpy Rain" during a February tournament. Before the sun got up enough to warm the air, we had ice forming in our rod guides, and a coating of frost on the boat carpet. The snow came in the afternoon, but didn't accumulate. My boat was in the shop, so I fished as a non-boater. The fellow that I drew out with won the tournament by fishing a spinnerbait just under the surface at the mouth of a creek. He loaned me a bait like his, and I came in Second. With his spinnerbait, I was able to catch the big fish of the tournament, just over 3 lbs. He let me keep the bait, and I still have it in my boat.
