We went 'Bald for the Brothers'!!
'A' shift at the Mississauga Fire Department decided to shave their heads in support of 2 of our members who are currently undergoing treatment for lymphoma. Well, the idea spiralled way beyond our wildest dreams, with loads of support from the other shifts, so the challenge was put forward. Each Friday for 4 weeks, crew members willing to shave their heads will ante up a minimum of $20.00 for the haircut, although getting pledges is encouraged. Those who don't want to go for the 'winter cut' can give $5.00 and get a badge to wear in support. All monies raised will go to the Canadian Cancer Society....so far, 'A' shift has raised $6,000 and still counting!
Here are a couple of pics of me going for my winter cut....my vanity nearly won out, but then I figured it's only hair!!! (I just hope the grey doesn't show too badly when it grows back!
