A big day for future firefighters
(Tucson-AP) -- The turnout gear may have been a little big and
some of the equipment was pretty heavy.
But for four eight-year-olds, they wouldn't trade the experience
for anything.
Zachary Armenta, Alexys Gomez, James Mendola and Brian Parks
were selected from one-thousand third-graders who entered the
Tucson Fire Department's "Chief for a Day" program.
The boys toured the Downtown fire station wearing uniforms and
climbing inside firetrucks.
They also ate lunch with firefighters, played with thermal
imaging cameras and even tried their hands at using fire hoses.
