I have been following this thread about a month now in their forum and have been a volunteer firefighter for over 15 years, and to think that there are allegations about the U.S. government doing this just makes me boil.

Are there any firefighters here that were at WTC, posting here on this forum, that could set the record straight. I would really like to see these people spreading those lies put in their place. I could think of no other place to turn to for the truth other than hearing it from people who I would trust with my life.

I'm sorry to stir up memories of that horrible time, but the truth needs to be told, and told from the mouths of the people who were there.

First of all, Jesus IS coming, we just don't know when.

Secondly, these are classic "Conspiracy Theory" types. You will find similar "theories" about such events as JFK's assassination (the man on the street with the umbrella) and the OK City bombing (black helicopters hovering over the Murrah building minutes before the bomb exploded).

Their argument was getting boring on the other website, so they came here to cause trouble. All one has to do is watch the way our government operates. It is a bingling bueracracy, with way too many people involved in even the most routine of decisions. The sheer number of people it would have taken to pull this "caper" off is staggering. Do you think that one of those people wouldn't have gone to CNN or ABC? Do you think that there are that many people with such a warped sense of right and wrong that they would have thought that blowing up buildings with 25,000 people in them was the right thing to do for the United States?

The people who put forth these types of fairy tales are acutely anti-government. They are also probably silly children ("...you ave a way cool site here") My hope would be that the reception that these two people recieve is enough to drive them back to their hole.

Seriously, I checked the thread out...and some of the links that were posted there by visitors. Though I don't claim to be an expert in demolition or to be a structural engineer, I do NOT see any evidence of the use of explosives in the manner that most demolition companies use. I think the general public is generally ignorant when it comes to structural collapse and the reasons it happens so suddenly. Statements that the buildings should have "fallen over like trees" or that the fire could never have reached temperatures high enough to weaken the steel structural members and truss assembly show a definite lack of even the basic understanding of buildings and the effect even a conventional fire can have on them. Although I do not like our current administration in the least, nor am I naive enough to believe that it is not possible for corruption to reach all levels and segments of government to one degree or the other, I find the ideas of some of these conspiracy fans a little hard to swallow, even in theory. Of course, they may be exactly right about some of the things they say. But, as for the demolition of the WTC towers by explosives, I'm not buying that. Most people don't understand that when demo crews set charges to support columns to level a building, the columns have been stripped and some are even cut away to make the blast as efficient and dependable as possible. I just can't imagine this type of operation going on in the WTC without being noticed.
