Public relations vehicle

We are kicking around the idea of building a fire prevention / public relations vehicle for our department. Our idea is based on a VW beetle Chassis building a replica fire truck . The hose bed could be set up to give rides during parades ect.. Any ideas, photos will be greatly appreciated.

Ps: Why the VW chassis ? because some one donated it.
