The Yankees have a better chance of winning the World Series than the Jets do of winning another game, no less the Super Bowl.

Yankees were big money long before Steinbrenner. Always were, always will be.

Most of that "Big Money" is spent on players like:

                        Bernie Williams
                        Derek Jeter
                        Andy Pettite
                        Jorge Posada
                        Alfonso Soriano
                        Mariano Rivera

Hmmmmmmmmmm, a trend? Yeah, they're all homegrown talent.

Now toss in Giambi, Clemens and Mussina and you have three Big Money free agents aquired by the Yankees. Not any more than any other team, except Tampa Bay.

Matsui, you say? Can't go there, he's competing for Rookie of the Year, but I won't go so far as to call him homegrown.

Rugby players do not wear pads or helmets, and they play 80 minutes of Rugby.

Strangely enough it takes 80 minutes for the game to be played, oh thats right, they don't swap teams every 15 seconds.

Awww, 229, you let the cat out of the bag too early. You have to go deeper in the argument, then ask people what teams those guys played for before they became Yankees. THEN go for the facts.

But you are right on the money. Two other thoughts

                              1. Clemens, Giambi, Mussina and Matsui have earned every penny they are paid.

                              2. You mean Tampa Bay, as in "Thank God for the Detroit Tigers being worse than us", Tampa Bay?
