Hey everyone, I have a tech question, when in station and not on call do you wear calf length boots with zippers or steel toe athletic shoes. Which is easiest to get off and where can I find a front zip calf length boot in size 15 or 16

    Screw a buncha that.

    Get yourself some ropers.

I've been wearing them for about 7 years around the station. Slip on and off nice, but won't come off your foot when you step in the mud. In addition, I can step in water and such and not have to worry about it leaking in the zipper or lace-holes like my collegues do.

I wear Bates side zip boots. In our last drill of putting on gear it took me 52 seconds to be from station wear to packed up. So yes I think they are a big benefit.
