    Ed:
Story of my life. I'm #11!
I can tell you that the Top 17 are crusty old jakes!
Speaking of which: how many have you posted at the "other" site?
I KNOW I have more than you over there.
Quite a group; that Top Ten. I only have Kiwi to beat.

Wow...that was quick. 11.77% huh? And someone DID do the math in another thread.

I find it sad that there are SO many people who have absolutely nothing to add. If you have the time to read a post....well, by George, take the time to comment or reply!

The REAL interesting stat would be how many of those posts were prompted by something I wrote that ****ed somebody off.

I would have to guess at least 30% of them.
10% were in an attempt to **** you off.
and the balance have been a collection of pies being thrown, IACOJ parties, oh yeah and the informative stuff that NJ, and Stan along with many others have been posting.

Totally unrelated to the topic, but has anyone else been missing the feathered, upside-down perspective lately?

Isn't it time for you IACOJ guys to launch some kinda RIT operation?

Ah, yes; we miss the flightless bird!

                  EFD:
                  Thanks for noticing.
Yes; we miss Kiwi, but he said a few months ago that his work was taking off and he might not be posting as much.
I sent him an email a couple of days ago. I hope to hear back from him soon.
He has opened the door for me. I could pass him and go into that #10 slot. I doubt that he'll let that happen.
I still find it interesting that the top posters are all IACOJ members. With the exception of the webteam, that is.
And I agree with NJ. Add to the discussion! Start a new thread! There is a more civil tone now. I look at all of the registered users who have never posted and wonder why.
I don't mind having my nose tweeked once in a while!
And to those who might say "get a life"; I say "the reason we can go about our lives, armed with the knowledge of our fire service that we have is because of those who make this their life's purpose". They add a purpose to our lives. And I am grateful for it. And better for it. I have seen a diversity of both people and opinion. We have taken ourselves too seriously at times and on the other hand, didn't get serious enough soon enough at other times. I have seen it get heated very quickly, but cool off just as quickly. The Webteam has used the whip and chair sparingly and has allowed us in many cases to work through to an understanding. We get mad, then we crack jokes. We may even leave for a while, BUT WE ALWAYS COME BACK!
THis is a great place to be.
                  Thanks.

                      Thanks for the info CR.

I lurked for a couple of years before I ever posted. When I joined, I was a new assistant chief with a lot more responsibility than my experience justified and I KNEW I was out of my league so I did what I thought a good rookie should do: Watched and listened.

I'm still out of my league but after a few years I feel like I can at least make an occasional valuable contribution.

This is more than a great place to be. It is the single greatest tool for spreading institutional knowledge that I've ever seen. All you guys at the top of that list, PLEASE keep on posting!

You need to get to the other site. I left you a message there. Between posting, writing articles, attending state committee meetings for the zero interest loan program and fire schools, I barely have enough time for golf.
Will you give me credit for the number of posts over at the other site?
                              Just wondered.
You need to quit worrying about me and hunker down, big fellow.
And what's with all the "Florida" news? What about the other 47 states? Thank god we have Ed.
