A joke gone too far has three West Chester firefighters facing scrutiny.
The firefighters are accused of pranking fellow workers by reporting a fire that didn't exist.
Fire Chief James Deterage says he learned about it a few days afterward but is still investigating it three months later.
Now West Chester Township trustees are investigating what's taking so long.
The chief says the three firefighters have not been suspended.
