I got stopped by a "Traffic Fight"... that's right a Traffic Fight....
Janice Broach: http://www.wmctv.com/Global/story.asp?S=1363665 Drivers stop traffic for a fight.
It was slow driving Wednesday afternoon on I-240 near Poplar as drivers stopped traffic for a fight. Traffic came to screeching halt when an afternoon brawl spilled onto the interstate.
There are all kinds of reasons for traffic backups on the interstate around Memphis. But what happened during rush hour traffic may win the prize for the most absurd. Traffic starts to back up and eventually stop. And here's why. Two women are out of their cars on the interstate fighting, yes fighting. They finally stop after it appears some men break it up. One woman picks up her shoes off the road and gets back in her car only to have a man stop her car. She finally leaves and two other cars also stopped on the interstate eventually also leave and traffic begins to flow.
What was this bizarre and dangerous incident about? We don't know. But keep your eyes peeled you never know what you'll see next on the sometimes mean and frequently weird streets of Memphis.
