The only other good thing about working in NJ is that I don't have to work SUNDAYS!

You must be working up in Bergen County. They still have blue laws up there.

yes, "wonderful (there is one of EVERY type of store in town)" Paramus!

If you want to talk about weird laws, this is the place!!

A retail business cannot be open on Sunday and cannot open before 7:00 AM on the day after Thanksgiving, but it can be open all day Memorial day, July 4th and Labor Day.

In most other parts of NJ, stealing over $500.00 worth of merchandise is a felony, in Paramus it is stealing over $200.00. In NY, it is stealing over $1000.00!!

This has to be the most over-retailed town I have ever seen!!

(I do love not having to pump my own gas, though!)

I think it is still illegal to stink here.

Glad Johnny Law hasn't visited our station at night. He'd have to lock all of us up.

          heres some form New Hampshire:
          State Laws:
You may not tap your feet, nod your head, or in any way keep time to the music in a tavern, restaurant, or cafe.
You cannot sell the clothes you are wearing to pay off a gambling debt.
It is considered an offense to check into a hotel under an assumed name.
Any cattle that crosses state roads must be fitted with a device to gather its feces.
It is illegal to pick seaweed up off of the beach.
You may not run machinery on Sundays.
On Sundays citizens may not relieve themselves while looking up.
          City Laws:
If a person is caught raking the beaches, picking up litter, hauling away trash, building a bench for the park, or many other kind things without a permit, he/she may be fined $150 for ''maintaining the national forest without a permit''

            From the Midwest...

Here’s a few from the good ol’ heartland ! All I can say is wow!

            Michigan
            • You may not swear in front of women and children

            Indiana
            • It is illegal for a liquor store to sell cold soft drinks.
            • Liquor stores may not sell milk.

            Nebraska
            • It is illegal for bar owners to sell beer unless they are simultaneously brewing a kettle of soup.

            Ohio
            • It is illegal to fish for whales on Sunday.
            • It is illegal to get a fish drunk.
            Wisconsin
            • You must manually flush all urinals in a building.
            • Butter substitutes are not allowed to be served in prisons.

            Kansas
            • Prohibits shooting rabbits from a motorboat

By the way I was in Kansas last year and I never saw enough water to put a boat in so I don’t think that one is a real problem!
And as for all the no pumping your own gas in NJ. My sister just moved out there with her husband (he’s in the AF) on base they have to pump their own plus growing up in MI we pump our own. So the first time she was off base and had to fill up she got out and went about her business and some guy came up to her and freaked out and was yelling (not in real great English) I guess being the quiet shy person she is she gave him a $20 (only owed like $6) and drove away as fast as she could. She now only fills up on base! Hey also about NJ what’s up with “jug handles?”
