  • Teen charged with criminal mischief for burning Sept. 11

(Warwick-AP) -- A Warwick teen has been charged with setting
fire to a man's collection of memorabilia documenting the September
    11th, 2001, terrorist attacks.
The 17-year-old boy, whose name is not being released, is
charged with third-degree criminal mischief. Warwick police say the
teen broke into the home of Ken Zaveckas on May 4th after being
refused an invitation to a party. Warwick is about 50 miles
    northwest of New York City.
Twenty-six-year-old Zaveckas is a veteran of the New York City
fire department. He kept a collection of newspapers, magazines and
other items about the September 11th terrorist attacks.
Police say the teen took the collection from the home and burned
    it in the street.
The boy was arrested on Thursday and later arraigned. Police say
he was released from jail after posting bail.
