  • Best Portable Radio?

My department will be purchasing new portable radios in the near future. We currently use Motorola CP200s. We do not need digital capable radios. The new ones need to have at least 15 channels and be capable of encoding/decoding. Which ones would you recommend and why? Thanks a bunch for any and all help!

Sort of like asking what color underwear is the best.

    Encoding and decoding what?

    UHF or VHF?

15 channels will barely hold your federal interop channels and your regular channels.

    Display or no?

I have a Kenwood TK-5210, and my wife has a TK-2180, and I love them both. Very easy to use, good reception, durable, etc. I don't have one complaint about either of them.
