I can't seem to find a solution to this anywhere. I looked.
My dept. recently gave me a minitor IV as my first pager, this is all fine and well, until I realized the previous owner had all but smashed the clip off. "I'll just krazy glue the sonofagun back together" I thought, and I did, and the clip is good as new, the speaker initially had some problems from the fumes of the glue, but it got better as time went on.
Now, about a week or two after this incident, the pager is receiving signals, but it is only playing static. There is not audible tones or words coming out, just... squelch.
Even if I use the amplifier that the department gave me for the pager, it's just squelch. It's fairly infuriating. I have also tried it inside my firehouse, still just squelch, the tones and instructions from the dispatcher are barely audible.
The only thing that may have happened to impact the pager was that my nametag for work is magnetic, and it is not very strong and prone to falling off. The last time it fell off, the magnet decided to stick to the front of my pager, I don't think that would be the problem, but I might as well mention it.
