It depends on what you want out of it, and what kind of dispatchers dispatch your department. If you're dispatched from a combination center or one that is police-based, then it might be worth your time. If you have fire dispatchers (either firefighters at radio or dedicated fire dispatchers), it might not be the best idea...

we're a pd based center, but we also dispatch for almost 20 fire departments as well and we all rotate through both fire/ems and pd dispatching.
