  • Industrial Training

Any other industrial firefighters out there who are involved in organizing training for their brigades? If so, what sort of resources have you found? It seems a little more of a challenge to locate good specific material for industrial sites.

I do not know if your staff is responsible for fire protection equipment testing and maintenance, if so check out the web site below for hand's on training of fire pumps, automatic sprinkler systems, fire detection, standpipe systems, etc. The facility is located in NJ.

We are responsible for all of those items. That would definitely be good training for us but unfortunately we're in SC. A little far from NJ. Thanks for the heads up though.

        MET-3:

Are you an incipient or structural fire brigade? The designation can determine the type and depth of annual training the members are required to receive.

Also, welcome to the board. I too, am from SC.

Check out the All Hazards Training Center at the Univerisity of Findlay. Here's their web site:

Custom Training in Environmental Health and Safety, Security and Emergency Response by The University of Findlay

They do most of their training at the client's location. In other words, they come to you and do a lot of customized training. Don't know what all you're looking for, but here are a couple of targetted web sites for their areas of specialization:

          Emergency Management and Disaster Preparedness

          Emergency Response and Hazwoper Training

Our company is now thinking to start training some of the staff since it was not practiced before. It was a small company back then but now after having a fair strength of workers, it is necessary to be prepared for any mishaps.
