What hose do you have on your apparatus?

What hose do you have on your apparatus?

    -How many hose lines?
    -What size?
    -How long?
    -Location?(bumper, crosslay, hosebed, etc.)
-What each line used for?(attack, backup, defensive, supply, etc.)
    -How is it loaded?
If you have hose on apparatus other than the engine you can mention that too.

Some of this may be a bit obvious but im still in my learning stage so go easy on me.:o

Thanks for the replies so far. I may be showing my ignorance but whats a speedlay? Is it like a crosslay or is different?

To me, speedlay and crosslay is the same thing. Any line that can be deployed in a hurry.

                  I could be wrong though.

Technically a crosslay is a preconnected transverse hosebed over the pump. Although you will find crosslays on the front bumper on some rigs. My volly rig pictured on my avatar is an example of that.

Speedlays are vertically stacked transvrese preconnects usually located at the front of a top mount pump panel. Although you will see them slid into the body on occasion where the hose is loaded in removable trays. The tray are removed for loading of hose and then slid back into the body.

                    Hope this helps.

                        Exactly.

Although that rig also has a crosslay bed. Most likely for 2 1/2 inch hose.

Off the tail board: 1000' of 4"; 1 bed each of of 1 3/4" and 2 1/2", both contain 450'. And bundles of 1 3/4" and 2 1/2" for manifold and standpipe ops that can either be shoulder loaded or dropped in the street.

                              Crosslays - 300' each of 2 1/2" and 1 3/4" dead lays.

We typically pull past the fire and use the rear beds first. Crosslays are used for the second line off.
