  • Blowin' stuff up

This morning on FOX news,I saw the Miami PD blowing up what appeared to be a gas can but didn't see a secondary explosion from whatever was in the thing.
My question is,that if clay can still be mistaken for explosives(can it?),would it beyond the realm of possibility that someone put some mesobutylbadstuffs in a "bomb" and let the EOD guys blow it up to spread the aforementioned bad stuffs for them?
I know we're supposed to consider everything to be dangerous until it's determined otherwise so maybe I'm thinking too far beyond my paygrade.I'm seriously hoping someone else has thought of that and they were sure it wasn't like I thought.

These things are left to the PD and respective agencies because the have the tools and training to determine what you are asking. I doubt the cops rolled up, and vaporized the can. I am sure they put some serious thought into what they would do.

The Military EOD teams do the same. They have air samplers, sniffers, and chemical detection devices. Generally, they ustilize these tools when they find UXO. Because booby-trapping UXO is as old an tactic as rocks have been used as weapons. Besides, most if not ALL bio agents can not be delivered with ordance that "explodeds"...the flames produced by the explosive compounds will destroy the Bio Agent. Thats why armies around the world have and had thier BIO agent delivered in a "aresol" form....flame and bios don't mix.

Here's an idea......you're the FD, stay away from the stuff. If you suspect something, or thing something is odd....stay away, don't touch it, or go near it....leave it up to the pros.

Never a doubt there, bro.I know some might think I come across as a know it all but I figure I'm smart enough to not screw with anything that I haven't been shown how to beforehand.
That definitely includes anything that looks like it might go boom. The radio goes into the off mode and the word gets passed verbally instead.
