Can you guys give me some experience/info about different types of these boots? I'm looking at buying a pair of 14" leather pull on firefighting boots; however, there are dozens out there. I'm interested in Pro Warringtons, Rangers, or Black Diamond. Any info would be appreciated.

The new globe magnums i tried on at the Springfield show were pretty sweet. Very comfortable. I have a pair of LaCrosse's right now that I love. They are little more narrow than some but they are kevlar uppers/leather lowers and the price couldnt be beat at the time. Really it is all about what you are looker for i.e. ankle support, comfort, etc.----------

I forget what I had but the opening for my leg is bigger than my old rubbers so its harder to pull my pants down over them... something to look into at leastThe Box. You opened it. We Came...

I have worn both the Warrington Pro 5000 and the Black Diamond pull on bunker boot. At first I thought the Warrington Pro 5000 was the best boot ever, then after some time I noticed holes developing. Unless they changed the way they are made, the Warrington Pro has a Kevlar / Nomex 40/60 blend on the outside. When your foot bends while walking, holes developed on the outsides at the creases about an inch behind where the toes would be. This happened in the exact same spots on both the left and right boot.
I then was offered a pair of the Black Diamond version. I'll tell you what, no holes and they were very comfortable.
I wish I could have a reason to start verbally praising Warrington Pro boots again but at this time I can't. A pair of boots that should have lasted me 5+ years (vollie, not too busy) only lasted a couple.Chris Shields
