Believe it or not I actually use the hux bar for certain task.
A hard to open hydrant the hux bar gives you more leverage.
Lifting a man hole cover that point on the end is perfect to pry it up with.
Not a go to tool for everyday task. But i have found it has a few useful purposes.

If mr barns thinks a saw is just limited to vert venting , he needs some time on the job.
I was trying to explain to him that for us our saws are primarily used for purposes other than ventilation.

Our K-12s are used quite often on truck accidents and truck cargo trailer fires on the interstate.

We are required to operate 6 service trucks based on the size of our district.

We do very little vertical ventilation and our district requires very, very little forcible entry, so our "truck" tool needs are extremly basic.Originally posted by LaFireEducator View PostEvery service truck carries both a K-12 and a chainsaw, which includes our 3 small service trucks as well as our heavy resue, light rescue and primary tanker.
Typical residental fire we'll put 3-4 of each saw on scene. Commercial fires we may put as many as 5.
