Farm Equipment Extrication info needed

It's a good point to raise....

How many of us responsible for rescue would know how to free a trapped arm from a harvester or hay bailer or similar?

The same goes for industrial type rescues- how many of us know how a press operates? How many of us are familiar with the type of potential incidents we may get called to?

Rescuers need to be prepared for any eventuality.

Investigate the local industry in your area and identify potential problems along with the type of calls you MAY get called to.

Train for the unknown, whether it be farm or industrial type responses....

There is a national certification program located at Alfred State College (SUNY Alfred) in Alfred, NY. Go to: <a href="http://www.Farmedic.com." target="_blank">www.Farmedic.com.</a>

It is a great program and I think they will travel to teach you. They also offer an instructors course so you can go back to your own department and teach the course.

Do any of the farm equipment manufacturers offer training, information, manualsor videos in extrication techniques, procedures,etc. for removing individuals that are entraped?

I would like to put together a county wide training program in a rural south Alabama county covering this type of extrication.
