  • Genesis Tools!! (Good!!!!)

In my previous topic for discussion I asked whether anyone had any information (good or bad) about the performance of the Genesis Rescue Tools.I must say that the response by some of you was as they say "off the deep end ".However there was some good info also. Just to let everyone know,we have now used the tools for about 6 weeks and have found absolutely nothing bad about them in anyway. So from our standpoint they are very good and will do as well as anyones tools on the market. Stay safe and GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

      Ohiofiremed57,

If you are asking about the couplings on the Genesis series of tools, they are designed to "leak". If you remember back in the "old days" of extrication when an extension hose that was left in the sun you were never able to couple it because of the pressure build up behind the coupling and you had to hit the coupling ball with a hammer to release the pressure. Genesis tried to cure that problem by having couplings that have pressure relief valves. The coupling will only leak if there is high pressure within the hose. I talked to the factory regarding this a while back because one line was charged, during training thankfully, without a tool attached to the end and oil sprayed everywhere.

I meen like heavy leakage. Pool of fluid on the ground after extrication. Adding fluid after every usage type.

I've never seen that severe of a leak. Have you called for service on the tools and about the leak. Give your sales rep a call, they should take care of it.

We bought a Genesis Cutter and a combi-tool about one year ago and both have performed without any problems. We are happy with their performance and features. We have not seen any signs of leakage.
