Compressed gas cylinders

After reading and learing how these systems operate I was wondering does any one know the best way to remove a roof with these systems. Is it prefered to cut above or below the gas cylinder??? Any dangers associated with cutting above the cylinder and leaving it in place. And with the cylinders partially buried in the a-post and dashboard does the modified dash lift provide less danger then the traditional dash roll.
