TNT and if you like HURST they have HURST compatible stuff. It is better quailty and at a cheaper price. If you want more info just look at www.americanrescuelinks.tripod.com

We have had Hurst since 1980. We just up graded our whole system last summer and keep Hurst.
the one thing I can say about Hurst is every time we took them off the Squad they worked.
Look around a lot of good quality tools on the market

Hurst 100 percent. Until I am shown otherwise, Ill stick with Hurst. I hear people say that there are better tools out there, but others who say that there is no comparison. Ill stick with Hurst until proven otherwise. And it is known that all people have different opinions on the tools of opinion. But, of these opinions, how many have been in the heavy rescue ops??? Call me biased BUT -
Our old Chief was and still is a HURST / SEAGRAVE dealer sooo....
When your raised using HURST you won't accept anything less but the best!
Biased Yep but it is a quality tool and has always been reliable for our department.
So you need a set of Ba_ _ _ to use but once you upgrade to a lighter HURST appliance you'll see not only the difference in power but reliability!

Operate both..have had Hurst since the early 80's and started with T-n-T about a year ago. Both our units work great. It you know how to use your equipment you can do anything with either unit, as long as you do what their are designed to do. You can brag that one unit is better than the other, each have their own advantages and disadvantages. When it comes to removing a vehicle from the patient, I thing the old RS-10 kits with the hand pumps, 2-ton and 4-ton spreaders, work well, if you know how to use them. They may not have been as fast or as powerful, but the were light and quick to set up. Now you can chew on me for that.Comment

Just because Hurst says there is no such thing as a compatible system, doesn't make it so. We have successfully merged our Hurst equipment with some new Phoenix items. We had one of the first 5 Hurst tools in the state of Illinois and had added a number of items such as rams and cutters over the years, but a few years ago when we were in the market for a combination tool, we just weren't impressed with the Hurst offerings and we liked the Phoenix. Our first out unit now has 2 Hurst rams, a Hurst cutter, a Phoneix combination tool and a Phoneix power unit. We will be looking to add some additional equipment in the next few years, but since Hurst doesn't approve of combination systems we will not be considering Hurst.
Do you have to use a Milwaukee generator to power your Milwaukee Sazall????
As long as all of your hydraulic rescue equipment uses the same fluid, pressure and flow rates there should be no problem in combining them.

You mean to tell me people actually use that TNT equipment?
Might work damn nice to open a can of dog food.

Being the first company to own an ML-50x Hurst cutter (so we were told), and owning the new ML-32 Spreader..HURST gets my vote. I was speaking to our local dealer, who has the new Hurst cutter in his demo truck, and I am pleased to see Hurst competing with the other brands finally. We love our stuff and i have used TNT, nothing to write home about.

Let the debates begin!!! Hurst was the first.. so Hurst has to be the best? I bet F.M Brick would have an opinion about that since Hurst wouldn't support his R&D efforts to improve the Hurst tools. That is why he went off to form his own company where he improved upon the concepts HE developed for Hurst.

We have both Hurst and TNT complete systems. Problems with both over the years. 4 years ago we purchased a new 5.5hp Hurst Simo-pump. The throttle design was trully a joke. (Pull the throttle and lock it down with a wing nut?!) Finally after 3 years, a retofit kit was installed with a rachet throttle. Problems solved. TNT Cutter, 2 years of use, and this thing can cut like crazy. Seal blew and had to be replaced. Out of service for less than 1 day! Service, unbeatible. Last week the TNT Bantam pump also blew a seal between the pump and engine, ruining the fluid. Out of service for 1 day, again service was outstanding. Also, a few years ago we wanted to spend a little $ (over $8000) and contacted local Hurst rep. Phone calls were not returned, demos were not brought,...time went buy. TNT, was there the next day, loaned a complete set of tools for 2 weeks to play with. Sale went to TNT.
I can't wait to play with the Extractor cutter from Hurst, although it looks VERY simular to the TNT. Hope my local rep answers the call when the checkbook gets opened.
