  • Extended Cab Pickups

Has anyone had any experience with the rear opening doors on the extended cab pickups, like the ones on the Dodge pickups? How do they fair in a crash and do they make extrication any easier?
Please relate any experiences you may have had with them, We haven't had any yet and I am curious about them. Thanks

They are secured both top and bottom and can be concidered to be a pillar until the door is opened.

You should be able to still but your ram to do a dash roll with out a problem. If in a crash situation they become locked up, cut them top and bottom. The door should be easily opened.

What I did was to go to the nearest dealer and inspect the doors, take slides and made a presentation. Dodge makes the 4 door truck, it looks like the old T'Bird suicide doors, except you must open the main cabin door first before the rear doors will open.

Keep the cutters/combination tools handy and you will not have a problem.
