      First thing would probably be to put on appropriate ppe...

      Just nitpicking!
      I am now a past chief and the views, opinions, and comments are mine and mine alone. I do not speak for any department or in any official capacity. Although, they would be smart to listen to me.

          Performing the evaluation would warrant appropriate ppe. I would think a vest would be the minimum.

            I would hope a well equipped and well trained Rescue Company would show up to the scene in full ppe, and ready to go to work.

                Our State Police have a sticker with "Hero" on the back of their cars (no joke).

                  I saw the 360, and took it. Next time make it so the wrench monkey can't get it right.

                    The HERO on the back of there cars PROBABLY stands for Highway Emergency Response Operations.. maybe..

                    Now as for the wreck ... First things first. SCENE SAFETY! I would spot my apparatus appropriately to block any on coming traffic! haha

                          haha.. Sorry for the all caps.. I tend to get carried away! hehe! but you are right, with a tiller its not that hard as long as you can remember what side your extrication equipment is on
