Elevator Door Chocks

Does anyone know of any sort of chocks used for holding open elevator doors during rescue operations?

If not, does anyone use anything besides other people to hold open elevator doors?

A standard wood chock under the front edge of the hoistway door will suffice. Even a screw driver.

Seriously though, it doesn't take much. Sometimes I'll take the drop key I just used to open the door and jam it into the recessed track the door rides on and push it tight to the door. It usually works. I'll try and get a pic when I get back to work on Monday.

Expansion wedge

Hey Don

There is a device made of aluminum and it wedges in the the track of the floor sill and by turning a plastic knob it wedges itself, holding the door open.

I will obtain a picture and post it.
