I'll start off by saying that this is by no means an advertisement for this product because we all know that's kind of frowned upon here in the forums. With that being said I came across this piece of equipment and was honestly impressed. When the system was demonstrated the victim was secured and ready to go in under ten seconds. The more I toyed with this equipment the more uses I found for it whether it be RIT operations or Technical Rescue. I look at it as kind of a cross between a SKED and a Halfback only engineered better because it can perform the duties of both flawlessly and quicker. Anyway the main reason for this post is to find out if anyone else has seen or trained with this. In the mean time I'll be working on getting some more info I can share with you.

So it provides the same spinal immobilization that the Halfback does or do you need a OSS type device in it?

Does it rig for vertical patient orientation? Kind of important, especially for confined space.

Don't see many carry handles? Easy to walk a person out with it?

So heres some more info. The photo is of a prototype the manufactured models have two carrying straps on each side. The system weighs less than 7 pounds and is very easy to carry in a job as a RIT team or to connect to yourself in pursuit of a victim during a technical rescue incident. Like the sked it's in your best intreats to use a back board for spinal immobilization, in this case you would use a half board. Theres no memory so once you unroll it....it stays flat. Theres a model with a bladder system integrated into it that can float a load of up to 300 lbs. It's inflated by a small CO2 cartridge. It's internal harness system is rated both vertically and horizontally at 4500 lbs.

I've got no affiliation with them and don't really care for the device. We tried one out a few years ago and was OK, but was not a demonstrable improvement over either and LSP or the SKED.

As for a piece of RIT gear, I think it is too cumbersome and has too many straps to be more functional than just dragging a guy.

I was generally impressed with this product...so much so I've become affiliated with Rite Rescue Systems. With that being said I feel it's a conflict of interest for me to post anymore of my thoughts regarding this product in our forum.
If anyone would like this thread deleted because of my affiliation with Rite Rescue Systems I completely understand and I will certainly do so.
