Tether's can be bought from the Morning PRide Distributer. There are 2 sizes, 10" & 14 ", several guys in my department have determined that the 10" was a better option. There is too much distance between you and the hook for a safe, controlled desent. There is a Pompier hook with a removable keeper pin on the market, we got our from MES Fire. I'm sure they are available elsewhere. Another option that is newly available with this system is called the "sliding D-ring option" which turns the spider harness into more of a "Gemtor" configuration. Instead of a single attachment to the harness, it provides for a two point harness attachement with your desent device connected to a loose D ring so that you are automatically centered once you complete the bail out and upright yourself. I'm not sure if I like the system yet, this has been recently forced onto us at work with little to no research done, so I've been back and forth with the sales rep doing my own research. I figure if you can't beat 'em might as well get more educated then 'em! Check out this PDF I found online, pages 4-7 shows a pretty good detail of the system. Let me know what you think, I still in the fact finding process.

ya the distributor that i am going for only has the non locking pompier hook but i may just end up trying to find another mp distributor in my area that sells the tethers although i must say the structure gear prices get fairly steep when you start adding stuff like this also the pdf that you linked i have that brochure from mp themselfs and have tried getting ahold of them with some questions about it. the main reason that im looking more into the tether/pompier hook combo is i work on a truck company and it would make things easier without having to wear a seperate belt just for ladder ops since we require all ff's working on the tower to have an actual ladder belt set up but as far as an engine company the 3 d ring set up looks wonderful as far as a bail out device
