Hey, just thought id pop in and say hello to fellow Specialized Rescue Personnel.

Im Dave, Im involved with a Civil Defence Reponse Team over here in NZ and im also a Volunteer firefighter here..

so far my training has been more on the basic side, but am now a qualified USAR Responder and am currently working towards Technician level for both Confined Space and also Rope Response..

Am looking at doing a trip overseas in the next couple years..

does anybody know if my quals would be of use and help me get on a department etc?

I dont know about any spec rescue teams only that you could join but im sure I could get you with a fire/rescue house that probley would not mind having you around with them. It is a volley house not sure if you are looking for a paid spot.

Hey Mate, would most likely be a Volunteer department, as Im not likely to be in one place for more than 6 months at a time..

also looking into doing my Swiftwater Responder quals as well
