I have always been taught the max. length for SABA hose is 300 ft with no connections between source and user. Does anyone know if this is an OSHA rule and if so where to find it? I'm having trouble finding referances for it.

It might be a manufacturer rule rather than OSHA. I know that Scott stipulates max 300 ft/6 connections for fittings with wide open male plugs, and 150 ft for male plugs equipped with check valves. These keep crap out of the hose, but add to flow resistance.
Survivair states 300 ft/34 lengths of their approved hose.
Check the instructions for the gear you are using.
