Just know that when you walk into that recruiter's office, you have all the leverage in the world, granted you have a decent ASVAB score, no medical issues, and your record is clean. You are not obligated in any way, shape, or form to sign anything. If you dont like what you hear, stand up, say thanks for your time, and walk out. Go in there and tell them what you want to do. If they say anything about, "oh you could come in as XXXX, and then later retrain or transfer into the job field you really want", dont do it.

Many recruiters are like car salesmen (I know because I deal with them on a regular basis) and they will try and get you to drive away in something that you never really wanted. They will also try and say that job is not available, which in some cases its not at the time, but that would be your cue tell them something like, "well when the job does become available, give me a call."

This is your life bro...control your fate.
