    Ah, weedhopper.... Hercs can zoom! I was with the 109th, the only USAF Hercs that could zoom and ski!

    Sure it's the Air Force. It's easy to sit around all day and do plenty of CDCs to build up your resume when you go on 20 runs a year, your service runs the program, and you rarely deploy. Marines/Soldiers/Sailors are usually too busy fighting the war and performing military duties to take Fire Officer III as an E-4.

    Want to bet there are more former Marine infantrymen who are now members of the FDNY/LAFD/Chicago FD than former USAF FireDawgs?

    Really.... The Air Force wants your brains, and they will fly you wherever you need to go. The Marines want your brawn and fighting skill.
