Flag
We received a flag that was flown over one of the Bases from one of the Units that we helped while they were training. It is very cool... We keep it in Chiefs Office, so that when he gets visitors they can talk about it.
Thanks for all of your service..... And all that serve.....

Being deployed - Any way to give official "Kudos" to my department?

I got my chief an ESGR award a couple of years ago. I also gave them a photo of one of the local Iraqi firemen holding up one of our dept shirts. One of the members who is a National Guard pilot framed a small flag that he carried on a mission.

Our Fire District had received just that .....a flag flown over Irag and a picture of the helocopter crew. It's a great conversation piece at Headquarters.

When I was deployed, One thing we liked to do for employers was have a flag flown over the base and then presented to the employer with a certificate. Sometimes pilots have the option of carrying a flag on a combat mission. Perhaps also take a picture of the flag flying alongside the Afghani flag to kind of put it all into perspective in what we are doing there.
Stay safe and come home safe. Thank you for your service.

They are doing what they are supposed to do. Just have your CO or CG write the Chief a nice letter on unit letterhead and copy your city manager.

Being deployed - Any way to give official "Kudos" to my department?
I'm in the Army Nat. Guard and I'm being deployed to Afghanistan. My civilian employer is a small suburban fire department that is already short staffed - despite that they have gone out of their way to get my shifts covered for all my pre-deployment schools and SRPs.
Are there any awards I can nominate my department for to recognize them for everything they've done for me?Tags: None
