Welcome to forums from Louisiana. I know most volunteer fire departments in Pennsylvania have what they call fire police - training is done by the state police on traffic control, crowd control, scene control... They aren't actually police officier but they have similar duties as police office on a scene of accident or fire....

    Hi from New Brunswick

Hi everyone, A little bit about myself..First of all I am not with any fire department. I work with the DOT here in New Brunswick as an operator instructor.

I also work once in a while for the N.B. safety council. Through them I have been conducting TCP (traffic control person) courses for the fire departments in my area.

I was doing a little research on the main cause of firefighter fatalities etc. and I was really curious as to how many fire departments across the country had training on traffic control.

This is how I stumbled onto this great site! Hope to participate in some of your discussions.
PS...My step son is a member of our local fire department and plans on pursuing a career as a fire figther after he graduates this year.
