My name is J.P. and I am brand new to Firehouse.com.

I am currently an Explorer in Southern New Hampshire, and I am loving everything I see about firefighting.

I am looking into going to school for firefighting in the future.

I do not claim to be a member of the fire community just yet, only a young adult looking for some guidance into what I hear from many is "the greatest job in the world".

Again, I'm glad to be a part of this community, and hope to make some new friends while I'm here.

J.P. congrats on making a career decision such as this, it is good to do so while you are young. I'm finding out the hard way that age and experience is sometimes frowned upon. I have over 17 years in the fire and ems service, a combat veteran medic as well, yet no full time dept. wants to hire me. Do it while you are young and stick with it.
