Just thought I'd make a little intro to say hey to the forums. Name's Tom Warshaw and I'm currently in training with the Sumter County (SC) Fire Department (Volunteer), running out of the #13 (Bethel) firehouse after graduation. For my day job, I'm a computer and network maintenance tech with the Air Force, stationed at Shaw AFB.
I've wanted to be a vol. firefighter for quite some time, but a couple of overseas assignments made it hard for me to commit to it. The thing that finally pushed me to do it while I'm here was listening to the stories my buddy would tell me of his uncle from TL-13, FDNY, who died in the WTC.
Anywho, you probably won't see me post as much at first as I'm gonna be doing alot of lurking, reading and learning in addition to the current training I am going through. I will surely ask a few questions from time to time though. Look forward to the ride and joining the firefighting ranks.
Cheers,
-Tom
