Hey everyone! I stumbled across this site and couldn't help myself but join. My name is Matt and I soon leave for Lackland Air Force Base in Texas where I will commence my firefighter training. I am an E-3 (Airmen First Class) in the Ohio National Guard at the 178th Fighter Wing (F-16 support) in Springfield, OH (I live in Columbus). I requested this career field upon enlisting because I would like to persue a civillian firefighting career. My dad is a police officer, my mother a nurse, and I would be a 21 year old college student who isn't content with the college experience at all. I've always wanted to be a firefighter, but was pressured into continuing my education. That, has come to a screeching halt because it is time for me to do what my heart tells me.
That being said, I look forward to chatting with all of you and hopefully picking up on a few pointers along the way to help me become as successful in this field as I can. Feel free to say hi!
