Although I have been married almost 39 years, understand that firefighters have a higher divorce rate than the average person. Marriage is the only war where you sleep with the enemy. A San Francisco command class instructor recently said the divorce rate for SFFD is 75%. He said, “If you want to be a firefighter find someone you hate and buy them a house.”

“Love is grand. Divorce starts at a 100 grand.”

Nothing is worst than being up half the night on calls on get away day and coming home for your days off and the bride is already mad.

It's no fun in the penalty box. There is no romance.
