  • Open container infraction

    Hello everyone
I live in california I just started going through my background investigation with a fire department. When I was 19 I got an open container ticket at the beach it was originally sent to me as a misdemeanor but then without me having any intervention they sent another notice saying it was lowerd to an infraction, so pay the fine and have a nice day. So I took care of it and haven't had any criminal trouble with the law since and now I'm going on 24.
So on my background I didn't check that I had any misdemeanors because I didn't have to have a lawyer get it lowered for me, the D.A did it automatically. And also for this fire department I didn't have to fill out a background packet all you do is a live scan and medical exam. I just want to get your guys thoughts on this, I know it might show up, but they technically can't hold it against me because all they asked as far as criminal history is if I had a felony or misdemeanor, correct?
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for your input

Yes if they are good they will see it or find it. Just a matter of what they do if they do find it.

I would do a open records requres to the police department and court that handled this matter, to see what it actualy says.

if you are going against thousnads of people sometimes even acne/ lettlest thing will knock you out. They have to get rid of people to get it down to a mangable level.

Not sure how the question read """ criminal history is if I had a felony or misdemeanor "" but you do have a crimminal record, no you did not murder anyone, but

Thank you for your response the question in a email read:

The next step in the process is a request of disclosure of any Misdemeanor or Felony records.

Should you be considered for employment, an extension background will be conducted including a submission of your fingerprints to State and Federal agencies for review. A full disclosure of any records by you is to your advantage as your record does not constitute an automatic bar from employment. Factors such as, but not limited to, age at time of offense(s) and recency of offense(s), as well as the relationship between the offense(s) and the position for which you apply will be taken into account. Failure to admit any records will result in disqualification.

      Hello Taylor
I think you have to get a Live Scan Fingerprinting to clarify your background and to know If this Issue will appear in your live scan record or not any you can take this document to support you in the court especially Its certified from the DOJ ,you can find your nearest live scan location from here https://www.certifixlivescan.com/cer...locations.html
