  • Spread the word.....

I recently attended a class on the Public Information Officer.[ IFSTA 36361 ] The primary instructor was the county public information official, who by the way, had also worked as a reporter for a well known Jersey Shore newspaper. She had a lot of great advice. Like "Get to know the media people in your town.". "They will look for you at the fireground. You can tell the story to them." Reach out to them and they will listen to you when you promote your company activities, too. They can and will befriend you and help you bridge the information gap between your community and your company. It is a good place to start.
Does your company have a P.I.O. yet?

I have been given the opportunity to establish the PIO position for my department. I would appreciate any information you have.
