    Age Limitation

The answer is only if the department has a limitation. Volunteer fire departments in Texas are NOT regulated by any state agency.

A volunteer department may voluntarily agree to fall under the regulation of the Texas Commission on Fire Protection if they so desire but it is not mandated by any law in the state. Even if the department agrees to the voluntary regulation, they can get out of it at any time.

Nothing to do with texas, but here in Nova Scotia there is no age limit. I've seen guys in their 60s taking the FF1 cert classes. Rural vollie stations are hurting for people - it's nice to see older guys step up...I just wish they didn't feel they had to lest they see the local fire station close.

Why would there be. They are volunteers and not paid members who can retire someday.
